Grenades Band: Seattle, WA.
A band from SEattle, WA called Grenades: Aaron Yost, Trent McIntyre, Eric Christianson, Jerome Sauer.BARBOZA, Deadkill, OUT OF TOWN SHOWS, and Other Cool Things.
The folks at Neumos have opened up a new venue in their basement, and it’s called BARBOZA. Seattle already has a good number of venues, but the addition of another accessible club gives bands more opportunities to play, and that’s something we’re obviously fans of.
Our friends Deadkill are releasing their debut 7″ on Good to Die Records (also good friends of ours) and we’ve been asked to play their record release show on May 17th at BARBOZA. It’s very cool that we get to both play in BARBOZA’s opening month, and help Deadkill launch their record.
Speaking of records, we’re buttoning up the details on our new one. We have a title chosen, have a release path, and we’re hoping to have it out this summer. Details will be coming soon, please stay tuned!
At the end of the month we’ll be playing some shows out of town with our buddies in Smooth Sailing. It’ll be our first time playing in California, and we hope to make it a regular thing. We’re capping off the run with a show at the Comet Tavern, along with Princess and Mico de Noche. Here are the dates:
We’ve been promising mail order for quite some time, but it’s actually happening soon! We have a new batch of shirts we plan on selling online, as well as our split 12″ w/ Mercy Ties, and other things coming soon. Here’s a peak at our new shirts!
Thanks to Doom Toof Design for the work on the shirt. If you need design work, check it out.
More to come!

We went to the studio and made a record, and other things.
It’s been a very very very long time since we’ve posted here. Thankfully our upcoming shows and Twitter feeds are posted here, otherwise people would probably think that we’re dead!
We’ve always planned to release a new record sometime this year, and we always had mid to late 2012 in mind. In early January we had the opportunity to record at the Red Room (of Matt Bayles fame) with Christiaan Morris. We weren’t going to have another chance until much later, so we jumped on the opportunity. We were short a couple of songs and had to cram a bit, but I think we ended up with something really cool.
The plan to release it later hasn’t changed, however. We know we’ve been tweeting and Facebook-ing up a storm about being in the studio, but the plan is still to get it out sometime in the summer. Now that it’s finished, we’re going to be take our time getting artwork ready for it, save up for a vinyl press, and possibly even show it around.
In the meantime, we’re going to do the usual “band” type things that we’ve been lazy about. New shirts, some stickers and buttons, that sort of thing. We’re hoping to do another session at Joonior Studios (see the videos to your right), learn some covers, and play some shows with our friends. We’ll being seeing Portland and Bellingham again very soon, and if all goes well… CALIFORNIA!

Another band picture and other things!
Our media department (erm…) has released another great picture of our lovely selves!
We know, we know. We still don’t have merch available online. This will change soon, promise!
Currently we’re working on writing a whole batch of new songs, and we’re excited to start playing them live. The plan is to write a whole bunch, and pick the best ones for a new record. Exciting stuff.
We’re also planning many more shows, especially ones out of town. Bellingham, Portland… we’re looking at you. We’d love to play anywhere outside Seattle, really. If you know of any towns that we should try and play, please let us know! Otherwise, stay tuned! More cool stuff on the way!
Official Music Video for Chrononaut!
Earlier this week, Seattle Rock Guy premiered our latest and greatest (and only) music video! It’s for the song “Chrononaut”, off our 12″ split w/ Merch Ties… which will be available for mailorder soon I promise! Otherwise you can pick it up at our shows, or get it digitally (links all the way to your right!).
“Chrononaut” was directed by our long time friend Drew Pickard with help from co-DP and colorist David Goodwin. Here’s the video!

Grenades at The Cabin Tavern in Bellingham, February 2011
Back in February we played with Dog Shredder and Helms Alee at The Cabin Tavern in Bellingham. This video is from that show!
We went to Bellingham again a few months later to play the Yellingham Festival, which was AMAZING, and we’re making our way north again to play The Shakedown with Dog Shredder. We LOVE Bellingham.
Grenades and Mercy Ties Split now available!
Our split with Mercy Ties is now available online!
The whole split is available on both iTunes and AmazonM3, and our side is available to purchase on our Bandcamp site. Links to the stores are on the right column over yonder.
For some reason, we are listed as “The Grenades” on Amazon, and iTunes decided that Grenades was the ONLY artist on the split. We’ll see if we can get that straightened out.
Mail order will be available as soon we finish setting up the store. Also, we need to remember to get some packing supplies!
The Echolalic Records Bandcamp site will shortly have the entire split available as well!
New record, new music, new website!
Hey, we finally have a new website! And look! New music to your right!
We have a 12″ split with Mercy Ties on Echolalic Records! Our record release show is on May 20th, and we’re excited to have Sandrider and Lozen on the bill! Here is the poster!
You’ll be able to pick up your copy of the record at the show (comes with a free download code), and you’ll be able to buy it online the following Tuesday! (Mailorder, iTunes, AmazonMP3, etc)
Hope everyone enjoys the new songs, please spread the word! Thanks!
